Neat concept. I like the lines overall, but the Cobalt rearend isn't "doing it" for me.

I'll believe it when I can go to a dealer and buy one :)

reminds me a bit of a vette in the sail panels and an aston martin from the rearend. needs some 1st gen style taillights but otherwise i really like it.

Kinda got a Viper-ish styled coupe. I'd like to see more of the 1st Gen. styling on it. I wonder if they are considering the T/A and how it'd look?

I see Aston Martin in this car for sure... I like this car, but the rear end needs to be extended or something, it looks too smooshed up. I just hope whatever the car ends up looking like is good because I plan on getting one the day they come out.

I'm not too big on the retro styling, but that is pretty clean looking!

I actually just had a dream last night that I saw a commercial for new Trans Ams

Hmmm im not diggin the tail lights i think GM can improve on that

I like everything about it, except the rear fascia. I think bigger single lights, instead of the Coblat-ish lightswould look better. The exhaust tips are ok, but some slightly smaller slash cut tips would be cool. The wheels are awesome, and I really like the lines. Id like to see some ideas for the front fascia as well. From what I see, Id but it. If, the engine was cool, though.

As long as Pontiac has the GTO i doubt we will ever see the Trans Am again even though i wigh they would make one. The car looks great even with the rims, but defintely those tail lights really look pretty gay. GM should take a few ideas from some of the concepts going around the internet, rather than having a couple guys sit down and make some shit that looks horrible.

I actually think that is the "SS" concept that GM paraded around to all the auto shows a few years ago. It was a bad ass concept, except I don't think it was camaro material, chevelle worthy definately. Although I will take anything at this point.
The flat black it nice. I would buy it.

GM is actually going to unveil their concept Camaro car at the Detroit auto show in 2006. That would be cool to go up there for that, but Ill wait till it comes to Chicago. I get free tickets anyways and free parking.

Chevy's best bet if they were going to produce a car like that, which I think looks nice, would be to *NOT* call it a Camaro. I'm probably alone on this, but I don't think Chevy should ressurect the Camaro name. There weren't enough buyers when it was around for the last 5 years. Everyone else has moved on. We should too.

What GM plans to do with the new Camaro is to appeal to a wider range or people. They are going to target the 30-50 crowd. They are going to make it easier to get in and out of the car, to appeal to women. Look at what Ford did with the new Mustang... it is not as hardcore of a vehicle like the f-body power plant was. The f-bodies were really performance oriented, and comprimised the other aspects of everything else.

That looks exactly like the Chevrolet SS concept that GM had like 4 years ago.

Maybe not exactly, but I see a lot of the same car in both. I like the original SS concept better, except for the huge fender flares.

I read they were working on an actual production concept for the camaro.
I haven't seen it.
But then I read they aren't gonna go thru with it and canceled it.

Its funny how amatures will design better camaro concepts than the actual GM designers. Soo sad in a way, that concept is SOOOOOO fucking sweet, I wish that really was the next Camaro. I'd buy it instantly.

As it has been said before, GM is debuting the concept in January. When and where did you read that they canceled it?

i wish they would just make a RWD V8 with good styling and not be too concerned about the nameplate. hell, they could use nova or chevelle or LeMans or any of the other old names if they want a retro name. one problem with retro is the drag. the new mustang has a horrible drag coefficient compared to the old one.

Too Corvette-ish for me. I love the looks of the new Vette, but two similar cars wouldn't be cool at all.

For you guys that are confused... this is NOT a GM concept. It was a GMI forum member photoshop of a couple different things.

According to GM's contract with Canada's gov. they CAN NOT produce another GM vehicle with the name of "camaro" or "firebird" until the yr 2017 or until the loan that they took out for the factory and land is paid off unless it is produced by them and there people. I can't remeber exactly what issue it was but I remeber reading it about a yr ago.
Although I would LOVE it if they did come back out with a new Firebird/TA, from everything I had read since 02, camaro may be back in 07-08 but most likely under a new name but as for Pontiac the bird is dead.... So sad.... :(
Look back in old issues of Hot Rod I believe they where the ones that ran the story on the demise of the camaro

They couldn't produce a car with the "Camaro" name as long as the factory stood. There is no factory anymore.

1. I suggested this car as possibly being the basis a while ago for the 5th gen....
2. If your gonna throw something like this out there...you need to cite you work and stop getting people riled up over nothing

not to crazy these pics. If that was a new camaro i would go buy a 05 mustang. Sorry i am a big chevy guy but the new mustang looks better than this thing. i like the ones i seen on here that look somewhat like a first gen camaro I would buy that for sure if it looked like the first gen
I like it, the lines of the car flow much better then previous designs. It definitely looks more expensive, and sports car like then muscle car.
