I have a friend who is trying to talk me into donating plasma at this place called DCI Biologicals here in Lubbock, Texas. I am just wondering how dangerous, if at all, donating plasma is? Has anyone had any problems? This place uses "sterilized" one-time use needles and everything else that your blood touches. I havent seen anything negative about it online but most adults in my life, Mother & Grandmother, have a really negative opinion of it. They seem to think that it will automatically give me AIDS or something. Has anyone donated before?
Oh and he makes like 200 bucks a month for like 8 hours of his time.
Thanks
James

Yeah thats what has me interested. And apparently women are paid like 3,500 dollars per egg. I know that if I could sell each of my sperm for $3,500, I could have a mason jar worth millions in just a couple of weeks.Hahaha
But seriously has anyone donated plasma ?

It's not as much of a risk as donating a kidney, ask me how I know.:eek2:

its perfectly safe, i know people that do it. Plus you sign forms that say if you get 'aids' or hiv or what ever from them they are liable. so you could sue. if you do get aids from them you will be a rich diseased that could do whatever you want.(lambo, mclaren, 747 boeing engine + z28)

It's alot like donating blood, except instead of the blood going directly into a bag, it goes into a centerfuge, where the liquid part of the blood (plasma) is seperated from the red cells, white cells and platelets, the solid parts of the blood are returned to your body and the liquid is kept

My buddy used to do that in college.

I think they only payed 40 bucks a session here and you could do it once a week.

I wouldn't worry about disease, most are done in a hospital like setting. Very sterile.

Couple of my friends do it across the street from work. You get 20 dollars if you do it once, then 30 dollars more if you come back within 5 days or something like that... I would do it for mod money ( 200 bucks a month ) but no way is some asshat sticking a needle into my arm to take my blood for cash, that's just dirty.

Oh and women get 3500-10k for their eggs because they only make ONE per month, where men make millions of sperm a month. They also have to go through a REALLY crappy surgery to get it done, so they sit with a cut up lower abdomen and stuff.. not worth it unless you are hard up for cash money.

A week? Being a little consertive arent we. I could probably do that in a day. My nuts would look like raisins but with all that money I could buy new ones. Sorry boys.

Well found my calling. I am going to be a profesional ejaculater. No more baby batter for the old lady. Its the pornstar pull out from here on. Now if I can convince her to hold the jar in her mouth.LOL

Should be a funny on carrer day at the elementry school.

Donated Platelets and except for extra time over regular giving blood, not much difference. Same as plasma where they are sending it through a machine that does the seperation procedure then they feed it back into you.

I've donated whole blood, and double red cells (where they hook you to a machine). Done it a few times, never any trouble. I'm definitely not getting any skinnier, so I don't have the sickness

I think the DCI here in town pays ~75 the first time and like 40 after that. You can donate once a week. I've thought about it. Can't be that bad. Hell, I've had needles stuck in me that you could see daylight through from one end to the other. Pretty easy $$ if you ask me. That'd give me some cash to give to the sponsors :)
