Any ideas on $ of swapping ls1/6spd into 350z

I think the engine bay is too short(nose to firewall) to accomodate a v8.

I don't know how big(physically) the LS1 is compaired to the VH45DE(Q45 motor) is but I've seen them fit in the Z33 chassis.

I have seen pictures of an RB26DETT (inline-6 twin turbo) in a Z33, so I would imagine an LS1 should fit. The first step would be to measure from the shifter to the front of the LS1 to get a rough idea of fitment issues. If the engine and trans are good in your Z you can recoup some of the cost of the swap by selling them. If you do the swap please keep the dimensions of the mount you use to assist the next person attempting the swap.

Someone on the Z forums is trying to put the motor from a the V8 Nissan Titan truck but I believe is having a lot of trouble doing it. Post this up on www.350Zmotoring.com there's a lot of people who know what they are talking about on there and you should get a quick response. Even though we have a bad rep about being cocky and stuff we know LS1's are bad ass and would love to see one in a Z!!

The Titan V8 is SOHC or DOHC and is huge. A guy I know has a TT on his 350Z, there is hardly any room at all for even the V6. If the Ls1 was even 2-3 inches longer I think you'd have alot of work ahead of you. There is alot of cross bracing around the top. The 6 sits low as does the accessory drive.

I would love to see this done. That would be killer in a vert.

I personally think the guy is nuts but he must have more money than he knows what to do with.
