I have this DEI 551R that I got for Christmas 4 years ago and never installed. So, now I'm old and don't like a cold car. I think I've got most of the wires figured out but am unsure on a couple. It's a 99Z28

Here goes, I'm going to list them in order like the inst booklet(crap) has.

Primary harness H1, 8-pin connector

Black-chassis ground=i should connect this to the big red + wire right :jest:
White/Blue(-) activiation input=
Light Green/Black(-) factory security disarm/special acc output= Light green in driver door module????
Yellow(+) Ign output ot RF sys= Pink wire in Ign harness 12ga
White(-) light flash output= Brown/grey at BCM connector #1
Gray/Black(-) don't need
Light Green (-) door lock=
Light Blue(-) Door unlock=

Main Harness
Red(+)12v input= 2 red wires in Ign harness
Pink(+)ign output= PInk 12ga at ign harness
Orange(+) accy output= Orange at ign harness
Purple(+) starter output= yellow at ign harness
Pink/White(+) 2nd ign output= Brown at ign harness

Remote Start Harness H2, 6-pin connector
Blue status/factory security rearm output=
Blue/Black(-) 2nd ign output= brown at ign harness
Grey(-)hood pin switch=
Brown(+) brake switch input= white on brake pedal switch
Viloet/White tach= C10 on Red PCM
Black/White neutral safety= Org/Blk on base of shifter

That is all for now.

Thanks guys!
Andy

Yellow(+) Ign output ot RF sys= Pink wire in Ign harness 12ga
White(-) light flash output= Brown/grey at BCM connector #1
Gray/Black(-) don't need
Light Green (-) door lock= passenger side kick panel, ill get you the diagram
Light Blue(-) Door unlock= same as above

Orange(+) accy output= Orange at ign harness
Purple(+) starter output= yellow at ign harness
Pink/White(+) 2nd ign output= Brown at ign harness

Remote Start Harness H2, 6-pin connector
Blue status/factory security rearm output= If you use a resistor to bypass the vats, you wont need this.
Blue/Black(-) 2nd ign output= brown at ign harness  no need
Grey(-)hood pin switch=
Brown(+) brake switch input= white on brake pedal switch
Viloet/White tach= C10 on Red PCM
Black/White neutral safety= Org/Blk on base of shifter  just ground it

That is all for now.

Thanks guys!

http://directechs.com/techtips/pdfs/resources/security/directed_techtips/1052.pdf

is the diagram for the locks

FYI, our car is not a fun car to learn on if you havent done an alarm before.. You also need to perform a BCM wakeup :o

You're awesome. I have the Vats bypass module also, so do I need to hookup that wire? How do I do a BCM wakeup. THANKS A TON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Connect
the cathode sides of each diode to the (-) unlock
output of your alarm. Connect the anode side of one
diode to the vehicle's unlock wire. Connect the anode
side of the other diode to terminal #87a of the relay,
connect terminal #86 to ground, terminal #85 to a 12V(+)
RAP (retained accessory power) lead such as the
switched lead of the radio, and connect terminal #30 to
the (-)door pin lead.

Ok, now I'm completely confused. I don't have any diodes, all I have are the relays. Do I need to go buy some diodes? Also the book says I might need to buy some relays. Will I?

for the locks and the "wakeup" yes..
you will need 2 diodes

I don't have AIM, sorry. I'll stop by radio shack tonight and get some diodes. I can't thank you enough for your help!!!! I plan to install this next weekend now. Gotta spend 9 hours pulling a dash and going a heater core in the GF's car tomorrow :(

I've called a couple of times and sat on hold for 1/2 hour each time. I can't tell you enough how thankful I am for your help. I almost broke down and paid to have it installed.
