Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - camaro engine ideas

I have a 92 camarors 5spd w/ 3.73s and my friend just wrecked his and i bought it back.He reacently put a 350 bored .060 over in it.it has stock 350 vortec heads and cam w/tbi.It ran pretty sluggish in his car consitering his gears 2.73.basically I want my car to out run my 94 z28 (lt1)stoplight to stoplight and im on a budget any ideas?

Is anyone else a bit confused? So what do you have to race against the z? Shouldnt be too terribly hard to beat a stock 94 LT.

BLOW-THRU TURBO SYSTEM
my project LS1 is currently in hold for my 95 Z
BUT
im also building a forged 355 SBC for use with blo-thru with cast iron heads
and a carburator and Holset turbocharger with a summit cam
the cost of the long block cost less than 1000$ with heads
for a 82 maro with a "built" 700-r4 which should 500 lb/ft. torque
with a similar combo that i used to run but S/C it made about 525hp
but with the turbo it will make 700+pump gas
i think that should be nuff to take out a few LT1/LS1's :suspiciou

U SHOULD LOOK INTO BLOW-THRU
IMO its the cheapest reliable way to make power with a carb SBC
