Does someone make an aftermarket system that will unlock the door for you when you get near the car as long as you have the fob in your pocket?
Basically Like Lexus does.

Sheesh! How lazy can you get. IS it really too much to ask to have you press a little button? j/k
Actually I've seen that same feature on a Vette. But I haven't a clue where you'd find that in an aftermarket device.

Actually yeah im that lazy...if I could have it for a reasonable amount of effort I would...I would love to have the push button start also!!!!
Wouldn't it be cool to walk up to the car and the doors unlock, get in sit down and push the button and it starts! No keys to get out of your pocket etc....

yup vette is push button....
My friends Infiniti has it also
I would think that someone would have an atftermaket system...I doubt it would be cheap though!

i also am interested in this. when i worked as a mercedes benz tech, i loved the feature. not only does it allow you to open the doors as long as you have the fob, but it also allows you to start the engine via a push button without taking the keys out of your pocket. pretty neat feature. it also recognizes where you are around the car, so if your at the drivers door the pass door wont open, or at the trunk, the other doors wont open. very cool, except for when it doesnt work and you dont have the keys with you! lol

Does it lock itself automatically when you walk away? If it doesn't what if you walk bye it and it unlocks, you would get everything stolen :(

I had a 94 Vette Conv. and it did what you are looking for. Walk up to it and it unlocks. Walk away and it locks. No idea where to find a kit for that.
Oh, and I did think it was useful. If you are carrying something, you dont have to switch hands to find which pocket your keys are in. So, 90% laziness, 5% useful, 5% coolness. :)

nah, 50% coolness 25% laziness and 25% useful.
im not sure about the other systems, but benzs stayed locked, until you actually grabbed the handle, then it checked for the signal, and would let you in. also, if it unlocks, and you dont open the door within 45 seconds, it locks back up. very nice.

Digging up an old topic guys, but has anyone done this? What systems are available?
