You think should I post it a some Ford forum??? maybe not! :)
i'd still buy an 05+ stang over this. and we'll see how much of this concept make it to production, if indeed that happens.

I wouldnt worry about Ford losing stang sales. That car in person is ugly they need to go back to the drawing board. I just saw it at detroit the fronts way to weird for it but the rest of the car is nice.

I wouldn't start the shit talking until you've got one in your driveway... Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about this car too, but GM has let us down is the past... I wouldn't start an all new Camaro-Mustang war until I was positive I wouldn't be eating my words.... But if you do decide to post that on a ford forumn... post up a link, it should be fun watching them tear you apart :jest:

I agree the front end needs to be changed up, as far as numbers i'd take the Camaro, but the 09 Challenger concept is bad ass, I'd almost go MOPAR =P Almost.

I'm not even gonna consider ANY of these new muscle cars until they start losing weight. These things are nothing but fatass pigs, reguardless of looks and power. The only car's weight that is where it should be is the Vette. Everything else is being stuffed with lard.

have you forgotten what muslecars started out as. FATASS PIGS with tons of power and looks. case in point 4200 lb 70 chevelle, gto, 69 charger even the fbods were not featherweights. as long as it is the >3500 lb area i am game

I sure wouldn't recommend stirring anything up against Ford in this arena. The Mustang wasn't discontinued, and they had the drive and organization to pull off a new model that has been selling like crazy. No doubt who the true "winners" are on the ponycar wars right now.

True. I just get frustrated how GM have left them all alone in this segment. They have obvious weaknesses that could be exploited and GM just sits around and give us the SSR (???), Cobalt, etc.

:jest: You're joking right? Just because the "old" cars were lardasses, you think these new ones SHOULD be overweight too?
Wow... just wow.
"Hmm, 350 HP with less than 3500 lbs for much better performace all-around, or 350 HP around 4000 lbs because that's how the old cars weighed. Gee, I'll go with the heavier car because it's retro even though all categories in performance are hindered by the weight." :eyes:

We cant forget how GM stopped building the rwd Caprice and handed Ford on a gold platter the law enforcement and taxi market.Yes health cost are killing them, but them having their heads up their asses that have hurt them more.

well i have bad news for you boys the cars aren;t going to get any lighter. not unless you want to start paying more than you already are. safety regulations are a big part of the weight gain. can they build a lighter camaro yes will they prob not because of the cost of r&d, retooling, retraining of workers and blah blah blah. remember it all boils down to money.

Or you could stop making power everything and navigation and ABS and traction control and computer assisted handling stock on every car :) .

With the Shelby GT500 on the way I wouldn't be boasting about a LS2 powered Camaro concept too much right now.... unless thats the base motor ;)

I remember reading the specs on that car and although i don't remember the coupe #s the vert is said to run a 12.9???? These cars are supposed to have 475 Blown horses and the best it can run is 12s???? :eek2: I think the vert weighed in at over 4000 lbs. Call me crazy guys but im not sure the new cobra is gonna be anything to worry about.

Then wont you be dumbfounded at a light by a 600rwhp pulley/exhaust/filter gt500. Havent you learned anything from the 03/04 cobra? You cant truly think that's all that car is capable of!
There were 03 cobras in the 9's in the first year of production with stock bottom ends and heads. Do you think that by upping displacement and blower size on the GT500 that things may have changed for the better in your favor? :jest:

The Camaro pic with the kid crying and representing Ford/Mustang owner is funny but as stated the Camaro is still only a concept and GM did drop the ball. I say keep it around until it is made and then have a field day with it.
Also. If the Camaro is built at +/- $200 from the Mustang then I do not see a direct competition for the Shelby Cobra with the Camaro, The price should elevate the Cobra to C6 territory and hopefully GM will have a blower for it.
And. I gotta tell you that I saw the Camaro this morning and was skeptical up to that point. And, after seeing the Challenger concept and knowing what the Mustang is showing, the Camaro concept blows them all away.
For those of you concerned with the weight I suggest you stay away from the Challenger.
This is my next car (I hope) and I cannot wait.

Yeah i know all that but still for a stock car with a blower and 475hp 12.9 is shit, that is all i was saying...Hell the regular c6 can do the 1/4 in 12.3. Me personally I am not impressed with the new cobra. Its heavy and ford would have no performance at all without that little supercharger sittin on top.

Sorry but I havent seen a 4200 lb chevelle. Maybe with an iron big block. But the only car Ive seen on an actual scale to weigh more than mine was an 87 gn. So Im assuming a Monte Carlo would be up there too. The gn was pushing 3900 lbs too. I dont believe old cars are really heavy. Just hollow steel. Not packed with the crap of todays cars.

2007 is being kind of optimistic isn't it? Didn't the unveiling video that was posted everywhere say early 2008 release as a 2009 model?

Forget the new Camaro, have you seen the Firebird/TA? They actually loof to have the same bodies, just different grilles, headlights, rear lamps and hoods to me. I think the TA looks a little better though.

The firebird looks better to me. I know it's just a different grill, hood, headlights and rear lights but the 98-02 TA'a look better to me than a Z-28 and a WS6 looks better to me than an SS. JMO though, you what they say...everyone's got'em.

You guys saw that Cadillac shared the northstar with Buick right? A northstar with a blower on it would be pretty damn sick. I just wish at some point we could get a four cam 32 valve motor in a chevy thats not $60,000 (ZR1-LT5). Point is Ford is winning this battle right now. Of course that 427-LS7 is f*cking badass though.

Actually it IS pretty damn sick. As for all the crap that they stuff in cars, that is what the majority of the buying public wants. Around here we seem to forget that that is not us.

I think they are on the right track but I agree it needs more refinement.
Here is a chopped version with the air intake deleted and a better looking grill to show it has potential. I added one of my 69 RS/SS for those of you who think it looks nothing like a first gen.

A 4200lb 70 Chevelle? 69 Charger? Those musta had concete poured in the trunk to weigh that! LMAO Used to have a full option(with a/c) 70 442 W-30 in our family, car weighed 3730. Those cars were actually closer to the weight of the loaded 4th gens we love so much(T-Top cars).

i think gm needs to chill out with their design and smooth it out a little bit it could be a good looking car with a little refinement the rims are too big, the front end is pretty ugly, and wtf is up with the roof

I think the 2007 Camaro looks sweet all around I love that retro look, everything except for the grille. Thats ok with me because I know Slp or someone will make a billet grill or a nicer one.

I personally like the new camaros and as for as ford goes the only mustangs that beat camaros/trans ams are the ones with blowers they cant do it all motor chevy needs to offer a blower on the new camaro or maybe an LS7 option

i realy dont care about the motor so much.. a LS1 wuld satisfy me 300rwhp is ok... just make it light. the car with driver and full tank at around 1600kg (3500lbs) wuld do wonders for the car

i know ill get bashed for this but thing looks almost to concept because of the short windows. Basically the whole body needs to be sectioned and the windows need to go up. Its just too concept right now.
