I have a set of these heads in stock that Gunnar loaned me to put on display in one of my showcases. I need to pay Gunnar for them, who wants to get a good deal? Bob

Compression was approx. 11-1. Golen engine service is using these heads on one of their crate 383 programs and is getting 510-518 hp.

I was thinking AFR or something.

wow! those are VERY impressive results. is there anyway you could possibly put up the actual dyno chart? i have a hard time visualizing the powerband just by looking at numbers. also i assume this is crank hp correct? im in the middle between a built ls1 and a built sbc for my 3rd gen trans am and this might be enough to push me over the top...
*EDIT* couple more questions. what intake bolt pattern do these have and are they perimeter or center bolt valve covers?

We will try to get a better copy of the dyno chart. The one we have a is not a good copy. We can set you up a set for center bolt and the intake pattern is for a carb intake. This is crank hp.

what style carb intake? theres a couple different bolt patterns for the SBC intake 86 and older and 87 and newer.(dunno if you knew that or not but i figured i would throw it in. :) ) it would be GREAT if they could be cast for both that way theres no limitations. also, to get a little more info out about these heads maybe you should look into becoming a sponsor at www.thirdgen.org right now most run MUCH pricier AFR 195 heads but if your heads perform nearly the same for damn near half the cost, they would be HUGE sellers! just a little fyi. also, if you really want to jump into this market, maybe a heads and cam package would be cool too. i assume you guys have access to an engine dyno to test out different cam profiles. a heads and cam setup making good power for 2k or so would sell HUGE on TGO as it takes the guesswork out.
and ya that graph would be totally awesome! if finances stay good i may pick up a set later this summer. :)

I am doing a similar build and have been shopping for heads, these look real promising. I have much interest in seeing the dyno graph as well, or at least the power #'s in the lower rpm range.

any word on what bolt pattern it fits? centerbolt valve covers or standard perimeter style? i got a 89 L98 and i plan on building a 383 more than likely and was thinking trick flow heads or AFR's if i could get the money together but these heads seem to out flow both and for cheaper than AFRs and the trickflows with bigger springs.
and definately consider advertising this over at the thirdgen sites like thirdgen.org... these heads will quickly become one of the most popular heads used by us thirdgen guys. great deal and seems like a great power producing product.

I love the Internet....
Gunnar....congrats on the new 23' stuff and I'm sure as usual the Patriot's will be a great bang for your buck cylinder head and perform well.
Also, just an FYI that AFR will soon be releasing its completely re-designed line of 23' SBC's we dubbed the Eliminator line.
I'm not going to hijack this thread and get into detail here but trust me you guys are going to want to follow the results of this all new cylinder head.
The first to be released will be the 180 and 195 street stuff (in a couple of months hopefully) with the larger race stuff to follow.
Thanks guys...
Tony M.
PS....Feel free to dial our tech line for more information....I will not be addressing any more questions related to the new product in this thread so please don't ask. I will provide you guys with more information over the coming weeks.

So do I
http://www.airflowresearch.com/pages/195sbc_sh.htm
Springs good to .550" lift, chrome moly retainers: 1399$
Would have to pay extra to get down to a 64cc chamber
http://sites.reachtheworld.tv/waterNew/default.asp?T=505238&DID=1225
Springs good to .650" lift, titanium retainers, 1295$
Comes with 64cc chambers
If you compare the 215cc to the 210cc the price difference is even greater. Either way the consumers are the winner as the selection of great SBC heads continues to increase, I'd like to see the new "Eliminator" heads from AFR, they sound good.

wow are those heads going to be 550 per pair assembled? those flow numbers are better than vortecs and the same price. very awesome deal!
and the new AFR heads sound good. taking conventional small blocks to the next level. alot of focus is on the GEN III stuff but good to see new improvements made to the old small blocks. lol keep up the good work and fine products
