I have a 305HO (9.5 compression, 58cc heads) engine on the stand. Have a set of 350 heads #462624 76CC with 1.94/1.50 valves. What would the compression be?

Going to use in a '75 camaro to keep it moving while working on (restoration) car. The car has headers and 2.5 dual exhaust. Anohter reason to use the 350 heads?

If the compression is above 8 to 1 think its the way to go. Better air flow. What cam would work with this. Won't need much lift?

Thanks

i would say about 7.5:1 is around what it would be. why not use the 305ho heads?

those heads should work. a cam i wouldnt go too high on, 305s hate lift, and hate alot of duration. i would suggest something like the edlelbrock performer RPM cam with a RPM air gap intake. a buddy has those two on his 305 and it seems to run well. It has .488/.510 lift. Also what transmission do you have? a 3.73 gear would help move it along too. also with those heads your compression should be up into the 8.0:1 area.

I have a 2.53 possi rear with a 350 turbo auto, 2500 stall.

Really just using to move the '75 around till other work is done. Have both heads just sitting there. Think the 350 heads would work better because of the flow vs 305 heads even losing a lot of compression. The other good point is reg. gas here I come.

i think the 305 ho heads would be better. unless you use a thin head gasket and/or mill the 350 heads to increase compression.

victor rienz makes a cheap thin gasket. part#5746 i think it is.
