Here are a couple of my older pics. One of them shows with the air cleaner on, the others are without.

how bad did that air cleaner restrict airflow? I am in the process of building a 383 for my car and have not decided what air cleaner to run.

Theyre supposed to flow very well. Something like 1350 cfm or so, i cant remember exactly. You will have to do some modification to it. I had to trim the bottom down all the way, and reform the mesh. The main reason i went with it was the ability to reshape it. Plus its reusable.

What kind is it and where did you get it? Thanks for the help. This was my only concern going with a carb. I dont mind cutting the cowl at all.

hey strokinit383, is your car up and running now? if so how does it run? I have a 383 here that i was thinking about swapping into my 94 V6 camaro...ive read up alot on it, how does a mild or wild small block run in one of these cars?

Its running, just needs exhaust to be road worthy. It runs great, real choppy idle, but thats what i wanted. The swap was actually a lot easier than i expected. If i was you i would do it. I have a video of the car running, but its in a dvd format and i dont know how to convert that to a mpeg or equivalent.

Its a comp cams XE274h. Ive heard nothing but good things about it. Holds good vacuum for power accessories. Great for a street car.
