Read the article in GMHIGHTECHPERFORMACE.COM, type V10 in the search and tell me what you guys think.
I would really like this engine in my 02' Camaro, even if I have to move some things, and do alot of customizing under the hood.

you spelled the site wrong. for the courtesy those who copy and paste, like me who tried it four time before i figured it out (LOL at me!!)

That is badass, i want them to build it, think of being stroked and blown, or on N02, strapped to a camaro or bird.... :hump:    :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

If anything ever happens with that engine I think it should stay away from the Camaro/Firebird. Leave F-Bodies/Vettes as V8's. It should also not be used for a retro-revival. It should be a totally new kick-ass car.

I think it would fit better as a truck engine, a competitor to the Lightning/Ram SRT-10. There doesn't seem like there's any more room in terms of price for another sport car. You have the high-end Z06, upper-middle class C6, middle class Camaro. No one wants to drive a six-figure Chevy.

That article suggests that we won't see a GM V-10 for quite some time. Fact is GM just doesn't need it. Dodge had to bring back the Hemi, and Ford went OHC. The Gen III/IV engines from GM have enough excitement without adding two more cylinders.

I think that It'll be cool to see an F-BODY with that engine, I would really like to hear its exhaust note on that thing. If GM ever produces it, even if it comes in a truck, I'll buy it used and I'll port the heads/add bigger valves add a Higher lift cam, custom made headers or headers for that specific swap if they ever make them and a 250 wet shot of N20 WITH THE STOCK BOTTOM END.
Can you imagine how cool a V10 02' Camaro on the streets would be?

Wasn't this same thing mentioned in GMHTP as a paper mock up several years ago??
Has it gone any farther than that yet??
OK. I just read the article. That is the same thing that was in the magazine several years ago.
This V10 idea is not going anywhere.

I remember an engineer from GM on the '01 Power Tour rambling on about this and other things after a few too many. lol I thought he was crazy, but maybe he was telling the truth afterall.

The V-10s sound strange b/c of the firing order. The article explains a lot, including why there will never be a V10 LS1.

A friend of mine had a newer RT w/ H/C, exhaust and LTs and it sounds like a hive of pissed off bees when he took off. It sounds great idling though.

How about dropping that engine into the Solstice.

"How about dropping that engine into the Solstice."

How bout not. Although it sounds fun, it would not handle at all, and GM does not need cars that are simply fast, they need cars that can do a little of everything.

It's the same article reprinted in a recent issue which GMHTP is celebrating it's 10 year anniversary. It's dead and was never going to happen for a production car.
