i wanted to ask you guys whats a good, safe, unnoticible way to get 10-250lbs out of a 4th gen SS? i know that you can cut everything into shreads, but is there any "hidden" weight that really has no purpose? i've been all through my car for 1 reason or another and have not seen anything that noticible. i have a tubular k-member, prostars, !EGR, !AIR, !w/washer tank, back seats & seatbelts(no one ever rides back there anyway). other than that its full weight. i don't have the money for QA-1's all the way around or stuff like that. i don't wanna take the bumper supports out because that would just backfire on me(my luck sucks at times). i also don't wanna cut the car up either, i can unbolt anything but i refuse to take the sawzaw to this car. its not my DD but i do like driving it when i can.
thanks, Jeff

alright i couldnt understand you, did you take the back seats out? Your carpet and backseats and backseat belts are like 40 something pounds. Plus you spare tire and jack mentioned above. Take the A/C out cuz who needs that if its not a DD, and if you have a Tubular K-Member already look into getting Upper and Lower A-Arms to reduce weight. Also you could buy and aftermarket hood Fiberglass or carbonfiber, and you could get rid of your stock seats and put in Aftermarket racing seats. Also im not sure if you want them or not but Airbags too. Cant think of anything else at the moment. If you want carpet for the front, you can order light weight carpet from i think Speed Inc. Cant think of anything else right now. But thats a start.

There is a thread in the Drag Racing Tech section
about this that has every possibility you can think
of, and many you wouldn't. I think it's a sticky. Go
check it out.

everything should be covered in the weight reduction sticky, but one thing you can do is take out all the sound deadening under the carpet.

I heard if you take the sound deadening out it gets realllllly loud going down the highway. I was thinking about doing it but I dunno if it would be a good idea for my daily driver.

You can take out every other bolt, i think this is good for 50 lbs, take a dump before you go to the track thats another 1lb also shave all of your body hair off J/k
