Damn man, thats friggin NICE!

Question for a turbo newb: That intercooler, how does very hot air go into that thing and come out substantially cooler, it seems so small for air that is traveling so fast through it? It just doesn't look that big, or is the picture deceiving?

Its not that big, its an air-water intercooler.....they run chilled water thru it.

Does the compressed air snake around all through that thing like water through a radiator, or is just an in and an out and that whole chamber is hollow inside?

It is a air-air rad inside,up the center with two sealed boxes on either side for inlet/outlet boost. Then a 3-4 gallon cell in the trunk with a pump will flow fresh ice water through that center rad.

So air will go in the inlet, through the radiatro like an air filter and right out the outlet?

So really it doesn't snake all around in there, it just goes straight through the heat fins on the radiator thing and than out?

I've always thought that its a shame Garrett doesn't make a left and a right compressor housing so the outlets match on each side....I'm a big fan of symmetry.

We like the symetry also, I bet hey would sell them too if made. Couldn't they just reverse the casting program and make them. Probably a bit of work but it would make us racers happier. It will still look wicked, we will start making headers this weekend and pressure pipes will most likely go in the fenders.

At 3100lbs we are looking for 6's 200+ on 10.5 tires. Power at full wick is 3000HP, but we will start at 2300-2500 roughly... We only ad 1800hp with the nitrous motor and went 7.40's...

SLED,

Like I said in PM's, our projects are so similar it's funny! I have the exact intercooler, and I'm building a 106mm single turbo 572 all alum big chief motor... I"m going to try to fit the intercooler under the passenger dash so that I can still drive on the street with a friend...
