Stereo & Electronics - Is it possible to hook up an amp to a stock head unit?

just like the title says. Where would i run the rca cables to? Country boy suggested a line converter to me but im not sure what he is talkin about. So how can i hook up an amp to my stock HU? thanks!

back in high school I just used to use those. the box has a place to hook the rca's up to it, and it taps into the stock speaker wires. someone on here that really knows stereo's will be able to help you better, but thats to give you an idea.

yes you can. But youll pay 25 bucks for the part, i would atleast get a 99 dollar pioneer that has a set of preouts.

Yes you can. The quality wont be as great as an aftermarket unit though.
You need a high level to low level converter.
PAC is a good brand and makes them

If you are going to go the LOC route you will want to get a high power adjustable one. I have installed many of these on customer cars and they seem to work the best. We always used the Peripheral brand that is made by the same company as Stinger. You can find them here on about page 42. http://aampofamerica.com/web/catalogs_pdf/PERCAT6_FINAL_LOREZ.pdf
Like he said above PAC would also be a good quality product to go with.
