just got done changing it out and noticed that it didnt have any extra wireharness plugs or anything?
what do i need to do to have input controls?

Actually, your 99 T/A probably had the button - it was labeled CD/Play instead of CD/Aux like on Camaros. That doesn't mean it would have worked because the head unit upgrade was done in the middle of the 99 model year and there's really no way to tell if you had an early model or late model.

As long as your replacement head unit is from a 2000 or newer vehicle it should work (although it sounds like you may have bought a Camaro head unit which will have a different color faceplate and illumination). You will find the 20-pin socket that takes the two 10-pin main harness plugs (black and gray/white) and a separate 9-pin socket for the changer on the back of the head unit. Just plug your auxiliary adapter into the 9-pin socket and you're ready to go.

Now, that's assuming that you didn't buy one of the auxiliary adapters that require a factory CD changer be connected in order to work - some do and some don't. If you did get that type of adapter then you should send it back and get a different one because they require an actual changer be connected - not just the wiring harness for one.

If you still have the original head unit I would go ahead and try it. You may be lucky and have one of the late-99 models that will work with the auxiliary adapter. If not then you haven't lost anything by trying.
