You'd be better off bypassing the monsoon stuff or going with an aftermarket amp and some components ;)

Nope they are right there is no adjustable gains.

If its too loud at 10-15 why not turn it down to 2-8?

yah i thought about turning my cd player down but then i need to crank my amp for my sub all the way up. I measured the sub outputs on the alpine 9855 and at say 10 volume the most it get is .1 volt, and ive been trying to adjust the deck to yeild more volts but it just does'nt work that way inless I actually turn the deck up so say 20 25 like 3/4 volume like the setting gain tutorials found all other net. Then the deck will start to produce a bit more volts at the preamp rca. But of coarse the speakers are already blarring.

thanks for the help so far

Doesn't your Alpine have a setting that you can turn your source output down and the sub output up? On my kenwood HU, you can adjust the main volume to whatever level you want and can do the same for the subwoofer output.

nope it does'nt have any source level. All i can find is in the crossover just turn down the level there to -6 or 12 or whatever db. I also found that there are level converters for hooking up aftermarket decks with factory amps and the level u can adjust the gain from the factory to new hu. Mayeb those would work for me.
