I am thinking of replacing my stock head unit on my Formula. I would appreciate it if you can post pics of your head unit on this thread. I am skeptical about changing because I thought it might not fill up the void when the stock is removed since its a bulking face compared to the new head units.

Suggestions - I want to find a head unit that has Sirius and iPod connection ready.

Thanks!

Ipod interface is really fast. Have the Ipod in my glove box and control everything through the headunit.

Here is my Alpine CDA-D857. The Alpine's will match the red interior at night really well.

They don't make those anymore. I that same one in my Dodge Ram because I didn't want an empty space

Alpine does not make the 1.5 DIN headunits anymore. The pic was to show how the 1.5 DIN's look and they are a couple of manufacturers that still make them.

I just sold my Alpine D855 1.5 din deck and got this one, 9851. I loved the stock look the 1.5din had but this one has my Iriver 20gb player hooked up to it so it makes up for it.

Hey, for the guy who has the Alpine Kca-420i interface adapter, I'm thinking about purchasing this for my headunit, can you set songs to shuffle? because I don't have time to dig through 3900 songs while I'm driving.

Those 420i's blow big time. You can only use the first 150 songs in your playlist. So if you have 3900 songs you will not be able to listen to 3750 of them even if you had time to dig through them while you were driving.

Best bet is to get a deck that will allow you to play AND control your ipod through the deck's controls. There are a few of them out there right now and A LOT more on the way.

I don't know if you were talking to me or not, but my headunit has Alpine's new full speed Ipod connection. There is no box or anything, just a wire, and everything is displayed on the headunit. There are a few different shuffle modes as well as different search functions.

Yeah, the 06 Alpine models only use a wire to connect to your ipod. The brain and everything else from the older models is now part of the new headunits. Much cheaper also.
