My rear seat speakers need replacing. They rattle like a MOFO when I have ANY kind of bass going through them. I saw that I can order them from GMParts Direct.com for 32 dollars. How hard is it to change them out? I assume not hard. Just pull them out unplug a wire, then plug the new ones in. Also are they the same on both side ie they are universal for eith side?

do they rattle or distort? if they rattle, then all ya gotta do is simply buy some sound deadening material to put in between the speaker and the surface it's mounted to. or, just buy some sealant, put a stream around the speaker mounting surface, let it sit for about 24 hours, then put them back in. that *shuld* help out a bit with the vibration. otherwise, any speaker u put in there will vibrate.
if its distortion, then yea, its time to replace 'em. alot of people are gettn the alpines or infinity kappa's for direct replacements, but i dont think those come with the plug to just simply plug 'n play - i think u gotta actually wire those like any aftermarket speakers. as far as direct stock replacement - well, yea, u'd be fine there - no extra work required, i wuldnt think. just pull the grilles off by hand. i forget the size of the screws holdn the speakers in - *think* they're like 7mm or somethin..pretty sure they're metric size.

Its definitely the speakers that rattle when bass comes on. If im listening to acoustic music they are fine.
