Im looking to buy an LS1 car and i was shying away from the 98s due to the older style tank and the old computer. Couple posts i was reading seems to be suggesting some preffer their metal tanks? Why exactly is that? Im planing on a big nitrous car or more then likely a big turbo motor in the future. What are the advantages or disadvantages of either tank?

The plastic tank is lighter and filler neck is separate of the tank. The metal tank is easier to mount a Walbro pump into the tank but has the filler neck all as one peice. Both can be cured with our Sheetmetal aluminum race tank. The biggest issue with the 98 cars is the heads and valve cover configure. But we can also remedy that with a set of good heads and our valve covers. There are goods and bads about both but all can be fixed or changed in any way possible.

Most people upgrade to a plastic tank for the weight savings !

Ya but any higher HP than 600 and the plastic tank does you no good.

the tank can be swapped without a big hassle. the computer is a bigger issue. it doesn't favor boost due to not being able to accept 2 and 3 bar.
