Dynoed tuned car today with new dart heads. A4 automatic with non-locked converter.
Dart 225's, Comp Cam 224, .581 , 114 camshaft, stock LS6 intake/TB/pulley/ massair, long tube headers, full exhaust, fully tuned on the dyno (27 degrees timing and 13.2 a/F all the way across)
Made great #'s. Very pleased with a nice small smog legal cam shaft.
430 rwhp, 405 rwtq through an auto and pump gas. Peak power at 6100 rpm.
For $1275 for the Dart heads, what a killer deal!
I did this on the ultimate budget with just heads/cam and some headers and the whole thing was $2000 in parts for the motor parts. Very glad I didnt go with AFR heads for another $1000 and probably make same type power.

awesome #'s for the auto..that means 430rwhp auto is a friggin beast..that pretty much proves to everybody that you can get over 400rwhp with a little cam and heads in an auto.... where did you get your heads from? and what stall do you have?

Nice work!

Damn dood those numbers are killer. Do you have a graph ? Who dyno tuned it?
I might have to take another look at my current setup if these as cast darts are making those kinds of numbers.
Can you give us more info on your combo. Like what size motor, rear gear, tranny, converter size, etc.. Also do you have any dyno #'s before the heads?

I have the printouts but nothing online (im not that good with the PC yet).
Stock engine car with a stock A4 and converter, It came with 2.73's stock. It made 296 rwhp stock on the same dyno.
Heads came from summit since they were on sale for $1275
A local ls1 guru guy did all the tuning.

No props for your tuner? No graph posted. Im guessing you still have a stock converter and 2.73 10 bolt.
I wont be the one to say it but I hear it coming

Great numbers for an auto! These heads are the way to go for a budget setup. That's a great price you got on those heads. Please post a graph when you have time.

My tuner is a local car guy that seems to get dragged into tuning most of the LS1 cars around here. We dont have any LS1 shops within a few hours drive so its just other car guys helping each other out.
I have the printout but I dont have a scanner so ill see if I can get it online sometime.
I had my tuner friend over to turn off a o2 sensor SES light and he told me he did lock the converter to get those #'s. I didnt realize he did, but I guess HPtuners can do it on the dyno on the fly.
n20: no just out of the box 225's. ground the little tabs on the rocker rails (took 2 minutes) and they worked great, 7.400 pushrods,
Just take a pic of it with your digital camera and post a pic ;)

Good job! We've been saying that the heads do not HAVE to be "shiny" (cnc'd) to make that kind of power if the research has been done on the front end.
The Dart heads sound amazing. kp is flying with his.

Stock converter and gears will produce pretty decent numbers. Once you put bigger gears and converter, they will go down.

Finally started the car tonight, fired right up. No lifter noise or problems, oil pressure was good. Car is back in the garage and will go up on blocks tomorrow and then the surgery begins

Use your digital camera to shoot a photo of the sheet and post it. Those torque #s are amazing for a locked TC and your combination. Most of the cars I've seen #s on with that size cam are averaging 400-415 hp and 375-385 torque with the TC locked

Hmmmm....wonder if I should go with the 225s over the 205s since I have the same cam...

How did you choose the 225 over the 205's? Just curious...

I'd like to know too.
I think a lot of people are concentrating too much on peak numbers when picking their setups. Either way those are awesome numbers, but I would love to see a graph.
The 205 heads flow more all the way up to .500 plus your still keeping the velocity up effecting torque and throttle response.
If I had a monster cam and was spinning the engine over 6800 then I would go that route. For a stock cube engine and a decent cam I still think the 205's are the way to go.
I think I will go the Dart 205 route, maybe get a light CNC port and milled just a bit.
Regardless, congrats on nice numbers.

10 4, my heads are sitting at UPS. Got the 205's and a crane 220/224 cam.
As you say 205's flow the same or better than the 225's right up to just under 0.550 lift.
Will report back as soon as they are installed and dyno is done.

I am installing now, and have the Crane 216/224 cam, which is the next smaller than yours. I think this will be a killer street combo :)
