got amp set to low bass sounds then I adjust the level knob the sail panel speakers volume level go'es down & sub goe's up but the sail panel speakers sound better than MTX sub.

?are the sail panel speaker the OME bass speaker?

? did I connect my amp adapter to the wrong set of speakers (I used the rear most on both sides)?

Thanks

connect the amp to the sail panels... they have bass there, I am pretty sure the rear is midrange and highs, no bass

Absolutely the sub amp inputs should not come from the rear hatch speakers. They are high pass only.

You can pull them off the sail panel speakers, but it would be better to pull them off of the rear head unit outputs going into the monsoon amp. This gives you one stage cleaner of a signal, and they are easier to get to, anyways.

I've never heard of the rears being high-passed. I haven't tested it, but I'm fairly sure the rear hatch has full range signal back there.

I assummed that the amp only needed a signal any signal to get powered up,

then use switch on amp LPF to get the low sounds?

If I try to connect to the sail panel speakers for input to amp will they go up and down in volume when I change the amp level?

Sounds like the best place to connect sub amp is at the OEM amp I've never sean it where is it located and what color wire's to use?

Thanks guys

- You'll want to use your LPF setting if you are driving a sub, yes.
- The gain level you set on your amp will not impact how loud the sail panel subs play.
- The OEM amp is mounted in front of the spare tire. The harness is long enough to unplug and splice into fairly easily.

Search around for the wiring codes. I don't remember them and they are different from car to car (Camaro/Firebird/Coupe/Convertible). But they are posted here and on the net. Search or google.

I have a cross over switch on the amp. was told it do'st matter where the amp signal input comes from but the way I have the amp connected does effect the volume of the sail; panel speakers.

My amp adapter that is connected to the rear speaker had 2 gain nobs the 2 flimieze plastic adjustment nobs broke off first time I adjusted them I think I have them wide open before they broke off ?should this adapter be replaced?

Thanks

well you can't adjust it so it probably should be replaced... that amp adaptor probably has a low pass filter and high pass filter so you can adjust what range of bass your getting.... now unless you buy another crossover you cannot adjust these settings (unless your amp has filters on it)
