My question is how does a car that 60's higher than me trap 6 mph less in the 1/8 and 7mph in the 1/4 with almost matching times? Mine is a nitrous car dual stage 225 A3/4000 stall. His is all motor A4 unspecified stall size with 3.90 gears.

His gearing almost got you in the 1/8th. (3.90 vs 3.55) Those 60's are real close in my book.

Possible answer here. He's lighter so he's making speed just as quickly as you are or possibly even more quickly for the first few seconds of acceleration hence the nearly equal 1/8th mile times. Your power advantage with the N20 starts showing itself as your MPH increases and you start pushing air hence the much wider gap in performance at the 1320' mark. Also being an A4 he has a gearing advantage in the first two gears over you once again making more speed quickly but losing ground once you both his Drive and have the same 1:1 ratios. Given this both runs appear about right to me with no magic necessary run those numbers. Anybody else???

So his gear advantage of .35 makes his times the same as mine with less mph, but it's my power that keeps me ahead right? Because at the330' he is ahead of me, From there on out The second stage hits and my MPH zooms me out front.

These times are pretty normal. He is 155 pounds lighter than you.

Last fall I ran against a guy with a 408 LS1(2000 SS), I walked him out of the hole, I had him all the way to the 1000' mark. His car had an iron block,12bolt and cage(weight) and he flew by me in the last 320'. 11.2 @ 124 to my 11.6 @117

First of all you are almost 3/10 faster in the 1/4, thats a lot ;)

Since you are running dual stage I would get into the 2nd stage a little quicker and your times should even out some, I would guess the 2nd stage isnt coming on until after the 330' mark. Your strong 1/8mph and 1/4 ET show you are making the power, just not in the first 330' or so.

Also a lot depends on the converter, the C5 probably has a fairly loose but not very efficient converter, good ET and so-so mph is a result. Lot of variables, your car looks good but its missing some down low, get into that second stage a little quicker ;)

Thanks KP, how do you feel this will turn out?
Spray 150 from the hole and the next 75 at the 1-2 shift. As of now its 125 close to off the line, and 100 more half way through 2nd(330')

The sooner you spray the 2nd stage the better your ET will be, as long as you dont blow the tires away or wheelstand it ;) You should have an easy 10.3x ET at that mph if you can get into the 2nd stage sooner..
