They are playing in Chicago sometime in May.

Is Jerry Cantrell going to sing all the leads?

Holy shit!!! That would be freaking awesome! Probably my 2nd all time favorite band. I've seen Cantrell live before and he rocked.

Although that would probably rock, it just wouldn't be the same. :(

thought they already had some kind of an reunion in Seattle? I believe thats where it was. But anyway there is no replacement for Layne. as great as it sounds its just never going to be the same...just like Sublime.

Doesn't look like there's a Detroit club date on their mini US tour so I might have to get Chicago tickets on ebay since they're already sold out.

I might just fly there if I could see that! Gotta be the greatest band EVER! The Toadies just had a reunion here in Dallas, not as good as AIC though. I saw Jerry Cantrell at Edge Fest one year and he was okay. It would be nice to have a Pearl Jam get-2-gether too!!

If my memory serves me correctly, I thought Jerry Cantrell sang lead vocals on a lot of the tracks to begin with.

It would be cool to see them performing again.

I saw Jerry on stage with STP a few years ago. They did at least one AinC song...I can't remember. He does well, but obviously its no Layne. Scott Weiland sang too I think.

William DuVall Named As Singer for European Tour Dates
William DuVall, the lead singer of the band Comes With the Fall, has been named as Alice In Chains' lead vocalist for the band's summer European tour dates. However, William will not be taking on this key role alone. While we can't name names, let's just say that some European fans are in for some very special treats.

I think Jerry sang 1/4 of the songs, but might have penned most of them. I was a big fan back in the day.

Metro would be an awesome place to see them, it's like a 1500 person venue. I live about a mile from there.

I never saw them live, but it always sounded like most of the harmonies were Layne doubling himself. Did Jerry sing harmonys live with Layne or how did that work?

I will be at the Bethlehem stop! They'll never be the true AiC, but I never got to see them while they were whole... I'm not passing this opportunity up.

On the MTV Live UNPLUGGED Jerry sang the harmonys with Lane, and it sounded very, very much like the studio harmonys.

You best believe I'm going to see them in NYC on May 23rd. 3 days prior to that I'll be at the TOOL concerts, both nights to the people that know ;)

No. The harmonies were Cantrell and Staley...in the studio and live.

There could have been some doubles of Staley's voice in certain songs, but AIC is well respected for their awesome harmonization.

You guys need to check out Metal Sludge more often.

ALICE IN CHAINS have confirmed that COMES WITH THE FALL vocalist/guitarist William DuVall will sing lead vocals for the group on their upcoming run, along with a few "special guests."

Duff McKagan might step in as their second guitarist on tour!

Also, some variation of GNR will tour Europe soon. Metal Sludge has also reported rumors of some pretty major tension in Velvet Revolver, so could we see a REAL GNR tour?!?

I would love to see this, gotta see if they'll be down around FL sometime. Won't be the same without Layne who gave all the songs that tingling down your spine on the melodies. Ive had MANY good times listening to AIC and is my favorite band. The seattle reunion was kickass because Maynard James Keenan from Tool/ A Perfect Circle sang lead on Man In A Box and Them Bones so it would be cool to see him do a few songs on tour.

Man I can't wait.

On a side note, does anyone listen to Mad Season? It had guitarists from pearl jam and a couple other guys i cant remember, but Layne Staley was on vocals. It was fuckin sweet.

If AIC got back together that would be awesome, but like others have said it's just not going to me the same without Layne. On the other hand Jerry Cantrell ROCKS!!! so the potential is there.

Why are they doing so many shows over in Europe??? There's absolutely NO WAY that they have a bigger fan base over there than in their own country. AiC fans should take it as a personal insult if they don't play more shows in the states!

They are doing rock festivals with other big bands over there. Festivals are still HUGE in Europe, but just don't sell over here.

Man I'd give anything to even see one of the shows even if it isn't Layne :( Still got my RIP Layne shirt in the closet, horrible day when I saw he was dead :( Let us all know how it turns out :D

I got to see them in the early 90's with Layne even on crutches and they still played over 2 1/2 hours. I had 2 or 3 Faclift cassettes that were totally worn by the end of summer of 1991. Unfortunatly Europe still has a huge grunge following and they will sell out every show. I also remember a interview on harddrive where Layne was bragging about picking up his new Ram Air TA the next day. I would love to own that piece of machinery.

My favorite group from the grunge era and one of my all time favorite groups. I saw them live in 1991 along with Pearl Jam, Temple of Dog and Soundgarden headlining. What a show.

Good Lord I bet that was a show. I would have loved to see that, but I don't think it would have bee cool for a 9 year old to be there :jest:
