My dads looking for some new speakers for his truck. He found a killer deal on Boston acoustics, and wants to buy them. He asked me to ask around to see if they are any good before he buys them.

Yes BA makes some great speakers/components.

Quality above that of more common speakers (pioneer, sony, etc.). Above average, I'd say.

I have a pair of Rally Series Boston Acoustics that sounded great and I bought them used! I'm just now upgrading to CDT component 6.5 midbass...I got a ridiculous deal I couldn't pass up on these. The CDT's are up there with Focal. Bostons are like JL Audio quality (depending on the model)..excellent for the money with nice mid bass...your dad should like them fine!!

ya cant go wring with Boston Pros.
While I probably am not hitting much over 130db with my current set up, the sound quality is perfect for me. I have 2 Alpine R series fed by a thousand watts of fosgate power and a thousand watts of kenwood power feeding the boston pro components.
IMO, your selection depends more on what kind of music you listen to than the acoustics of the car. I dig hair nation on sirius, old rock and metal. JBLs ofer great highs, Kicker offers great bass for rap.
Flavor preferences.

Ill have to agree that they are above average. Best way to tell is to listen to them and find out if they sound good to you (or your dad).

yea I don't really care about audio, the o so sweet sound of the borla is music to my ears, but then again he thinks my !AC mod is the dumbest thing ever lol..

!ac? ! means the item has been removed, AC means air conditioning, turn the far left knob on your HVAC controls to the far right, then the next to the far left, next to the first up from the left, that's ac.. Makes cold air blow out of the vents.
