"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Lionel Tate was sentenced Thursday to 30 years in prison for violating probation, the latest twist in the case of the teenager convicted of murdering a 6-year-old girl in what his attorneys initially claimed was a pro wrestling move.
Under the latest charge, Tate had faced between 10 and 30 years in prison for violating his probation by having a gun and allegedly robbing a pizza delivery man last year.
The judge Thursday allowed him to withdraw his guilty plea in the May 2005 robbery, but still sentenced him on the gun charge.
Tate, now 19, was 12 when he was convicted in the 1999 beating death of Tiffany Eunick.
His murder conviction was overturned by an appeals court in 2004 after the panel found it wasn't clear whether Tate understood the charges. He was freed from prison under a deal in which he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years' probation"

So, the conviction is overturned because he doesn't understand the charges, yet he is allowed to plead guilty to a different set of charges? Uhmmm? Pardon?
At least the victims family can feal comfortable knowing that little bitch will be in prison for a long, long time.

he got sentenced to 30 years 7 years later for a crime he commited when he was 12 well at least its not like the guy that got 174 years for robbing houses in Columbus about a month ago and he didn't even hurt anyone..

He got 30 yrs for robbing a pizza delivery guy with a gun.
The guy in Columbus did home invasions and forced women to strip naked at gunpoint while he looted their homes.
I'd say that qualifies as "hurting" someone to me.

oh I see...^ but 174 years is a little bit excessive.. I think it was just the location of houses he was robbing.. if was off of livingston ave going towards downtown I bet he would get nothing but a slap on the wrist. But he who am I to judge.. what did the guy they caught for raping those girls up at OSU get?

174 yrs IS a really long time. But when someone goes on a home invasion spree those 25-30 1st degree agrravated felonies add up to a long ass prison sentence when it's time to pay the piper.
I'm sure that the victims he picked in yuppie German Village didn't help his case either.
If he would have been robbing dope houses at 22nd and Main it probably would have been treated differently.
