Hey guys, friends with Chase Romano.. Ne ways
He got me on LS1TECH, Im building a 358 SB Carb 750 Demon, Bought long tubes.. (2210) and wondering about ground clearance..Also wondering about the computer inside... I wanna yank it out and use all mechanical gauges and use autometer in the cab to read.. Think this is a good idea??
Please Right back.. :) thanks!!!

I would stick with the electrical gauges so that you dont have a bunch of bulky mechanical lines everywhere.

You can rip the computer out and run electrical gauges from autometer.

Go with the electrical Autometer Gauges. That what I did with my 4th gen BBC swap.

By the way that motor is awesome

Wait.. the most common u see in most vehicles are electrical or mechanical.. Got those confused for a sec. yea def electrical gauges... Thanks for the Input!!
Motor should post 500 to 550 depending on combination of components!! :):):):)

2210 long tubes have great ground clearance, it's the y-pipe or whatever you do from the headers back that you have to worry about.

What heads are those and any reason in particular for running split ratio rockers?

1.6 on Exhaust and 1.5 on Intake... Lets it breathe better and u can gain horsepower by doin that... Its been proven ;) So i got those rockers for free so i figured id put that on there.. Hey man ur set up is pretty bad ass.. You have any pictures????
Heads are TrickFlow 202/160 23 Degree Kenny Dutweiler :):):)

I just got the engine put in last weekend, so I don't have it quite ready yet, I'll try to get some updated pics later today...

Looks like a pretty nice combo, but please switch the rockers around. The 1.6 rockers should be on the intake and 1.5 on the exhauts. In David Vizards SBC book, they dyno tested 1.5/1.5, 1.6/1.5, 1.5/1.6, and 1.6/1.6. The all-around best combo was 1.6 intake and 1.5 exhaust. I assure you this is correct regardless of what your buddies tell you. Lift and valve acceleration on the exhaust side just isn't that critical.

Quoted for truth. I also offer the example of the better LS1-based camshafts. There seems to be a trend of more aggressive lobes on the intake which accelerate the valves faster and increase lift. It may not show up at .050" specs, but if you look at .100" duration numbers you'll see that the intake has a more aggressive profile. This is the case with the Futral cams and many of the Thunder Racing, LSx camshafts. I know your engine is a SBC and not based on Gen III technology, but advancements in valvetrain technology and knowledge can be universally applied across the board.

I'm with Mike. Swap the higher ratio rockers to the intake side.:)
