I have a 396 60 over about 10 to 1 compression. Its in a 72 nova with an aluminum radiator and a 16" off brand electric fan. Im also running a shitty stock style water pump from the local auto parts store. Its running hot though. It seems to want to stay at 210 -230. Any body have any sugesstions? Please help.

i put Water Wetter in my race car and it keps the temp down about 30 degrees on average. I have put it in several street cars with about a 10- 15 degree difference when mixed with antifreeze.

I'd use an engine driven fan, and make sure the water pump isn't for a counter clockwise application.
I used to run an 11:1 .060 over 427 in a '75 nova with the small block radiator, stock shroud, 18" flex fan, autozone water pump. It used to run 190 max, even on a 95 degree day.

I'd get a larger fan and set the t-stat to turn on at 180, if I set mine higher it has a harder time playing catch up. If you have the room and the $ you cat get one with a molded shroud built to it. My 454 has a griffin rad. with alum. pump and never runs hot, even at the track.
Larger meaning higher cfm.
