Ok I wired up my amp today and its not working right. Here a rundown of my wiring, please help me diagnose. Using monsoon system i tied my signal converter into my rear speaker wires at the headunit. The brown wires that it came with no one uses so i just capped them off (i might try using them as a ground tmrw for my first attempt at straightening this shit out). Ran my 4g power with fuse from the battery to the amp, remote from the pink wire on the head to the amp, and i took off the 3/4 bolt that holds down the rear seat belt and sanded down to bare metal and grounded under it (only have a 2ft piece of 4g ground). Speakers are wired to amp properly. The amp cuts on but no sound to the sub. When i turn the gain up past like 1/4 the amps protection light clicks on. Anyone got any ideas what the hell is the problem? Would bad grounding cause it to not produce any sound to the speaker and clip when i turn it up at all????

Sounds like you either have a short entering the amp (either the line converter or the HU), or your sub has something shorted inside.

You still getting sound at the rear speakers? Did you measure the sub's voice coil resistance? was it ~3ohms.

Check your wiring for any shorts.

WELL i had a friend stick the sub in the box for me while i was doing something else and told him exactly how to wire the coils for my 2ohm load and he still somehow crossed a neg and pos on the two coils. Before I took it out to realize that I grounded the two brown wires on the converter and tried another ground for the amp and neither helped. Its all good now other than the fitment of the subthump stealth box. It doesnt go in far enough, im talking to the owner of the company now trying to figure out what the hell the deal with that is...
