Stereo & Electronics - my new amp gets real hot so I added a fan will one be enought

my new amp seams to get hotter than the first amp so I added a fan ?will one fan be enought to keep things cool? don't want to create a fire.

Amp is mounted inside spare tire area, I have removed the right side seat belt thinking this will allow more air inside this area.

fan I'm using is just a computer fan 12VDC / a wooping 27.50 CFM it's mounted at the side air will be flowing over the right side cooling fins underneth & the top of amp.

I'm clicking on manage attachments must be malfunctioning will post pics later.

One should do the trick. I had this problem, and bought a cross-over, which I mounted under the dash. I turned the amp all the way down and ajusted the bass through the cross-over. Never had a problem after that.

One of the things I did was to cut the little speaker out, dremeled the hole smooth and pulled the fabric off the grille insert so's the heat had somewhere to rise up and escape through as well. My amp has a built in fan already though...but if your amp is actually overheating and cutting out, it probably means that you're pushing it too hard for it to handle and killing it.

what I have noticed about my new amp (rockfordfosgate punch2 250rms) & rockfordfosdgate punch2 sub 200rms).
is that at low volume the remote bass nob has no effect (has effect only at upper mid to high volume)

thinking that I have the frequency adusted to 80Hz and gain at 1/3 is good for a all around setting I'm able to adust at high & mid volume but not at low volume . I'm now thinking that the gain needs reducing to allow the adjustment (/remote nob at low volume) am I right?

/ new amp & sub this thing is extremely loud an clear all I'm looking for is more punchie bass at lower volume levels.

The saleman liaed to me to me he said the sub speaker wieghed 7Lbs the sub an amp combimed is 25Lbs I don't like this.
