Stereo & Electronics - 5" tach what are these wires (pics)

picked up a 5" autogauge tach....

there is a white,green,red,black wire....then 4 snipped wires,two are brown and two are orange...what is the white wire?i cant remember that one,and what do you think those brown and orange wires are?

white wire is for the light. brown and orange loops were cut to make it read 4 cylinders instead of 8.
