If I needed to replace my Stock Pontiac Monsoon Amp from one in a Camaro is it just plug and play?

I think they are the same except for the 98s. The 99-02s are different.

Nope they are not. I had a friend whose went out in his Camaro and gave him mine from my TA and his stereo sounds pretty crappy now. He took it out and compared and they are different part #'s. I think it partly has to do with the equalizer the TA headunit comes with that the Camaro does not.

It's not the equalizer that makes the difference - that's internal to the head unit and has nothing to do with the amp. The difference is that the Camaro has SVC subs in the sail panels while the Firebirds have DVC subs wired in parallel.

yeah they have different speakers with different resistance on the channels...

Actually, although the speakers are physically different they all present the same impedance to the amp. The SVC subs in Camaros are 2-ohm. The DVC subs in Firebirds are dual 4-ohm wired in parallel to create a 2-ohm load.
