This is an LS1 forum.
gee youre nice.
theres a small block section that might be able to help you out. i know theres quite a few people that buy modified LTx intakes so they can use your stock distributor. i think you have to use the small cap setup though

I'm always willing to help out. No problem.
It is interesting your first post on an LS1 forum and it's a question about a SBC. I have had many SBC's, but your question is in the wrong place let alone the wrong forum. Talking shit isn't going to get you too far around here buddy.
Putting a distributor motor in a 3rd gen would be easy, but you won't be able to get to the distributor very easy and removing it wouldn't be possible. So if you want to put the motor together and not be able to prime it or ever change the distibutor/components ok. You will have to pull the motor to get to it. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Wow see that my first post so excuse me for not being 100% up on the site.
Also its gen 4 and it has been done but I really dont need to get into this with you. Are you the thread police. Not much else to do but police the threads and point out mistakes. What is a good idea to you? instead of helping someone and direct them in the right direction you just bark at them.
Also one of the major supporters of this site told me too join and post it here.

The SBC/BBC section (http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=92) is where you should look for info on putting those motors into 4th gen F-bodies.
In fact, I'm moving this thread over there right now.

I wasn't trying to be an ass. It's just everyone spams the conversion/hybrid section on their first post and it's getting old. No one uses the search or looks around for a couple days before posting. Sorry for coming off that way I am usually very helpful.
It just looks like a total PITA to get to the distributor. If it was a new motor would there even be space to prime the thing. Why would you want to do this? Does the 4th Gen ignition suck?

still a pretty sh*tty thing for stealth to treat people (especially new). i would think if you've been here longer and know more , it should be a responsibility to encourage new folks to stick around and post. if you act like a complete ass, people will not feel welcome. thats just bad for everyone. im new and i would like plenty of people here to help me when im stuck. just my 2 cents.

yes, it can be done fairly easy. I have also done mine, I'll see if I can get you some pics. I took a older style intake, and mine to a local machine shop to have them machine a mounting service. If you have more questions, just ask I'll try to help you out anyway I can.

I've got a 454 BBC in a 95 Camaro and I can take my distributer out without pulling the motor. Actually I can change the dist., wires, and spark plugs faster than you cna change that Opticrap on an LT-1.
I've got photo's on here of my setup, I just need to get some more loaded up on my progress of putting the car back together.

Will this work with a stock front glass? Just curious why it isnt in there, and this is a great option... to me, I dont have to have a Riddler Award car, just a toy....
