I had to remove my t-top holders on my 98, in order to get the enclouser in that location. I ended up having to use the backseat to store the tops when I had them out. You can look into getting a stealth box for your F-body, and this will keep you from having to remove the t-top holders. I know some of the guys here use the stealth enclouser, but I have never used this type of enclouser.

i built a box with a 10" l5 that fit down in the trunk with the holder still mounted and just made the box easy to remove, mounted the amp and crossover on the box so all i have to do is disconnect the rca, power and ground and yank it out other than that i just put my t-tops in my back seat.

Better yet, keep your holder in the same spot and put in a badass custom box and amp rack like mine:

check out JL audio, they have a prebuilt box that fits in the driver side just like that and sounds great with a decent amp.

Same set up I have. I think that is all the power that car needs with the truck. Believe me and I used to have a 4 runner with 4 12's and two punch 1000's. need less to say the little single 10 is all I like any more.

yea I got tired of not being able to hold the tops, so i changed out the 2 10"s for 1 10" and used the stealth box. love it. resonates really well and the sound sounds great

I didnt do it myself but I cant tell you what company made the sub box. I know that the amp rack is custom though by the last owner. I hate that sub but it does fine until I can justify spending money on a better one when I barely have the music up. (exhaust is my music  )

One sub is definately all you need unless you want to have insane bass that drowns any sort of sound quality. The hatchback does wonders for amplifying the bass. Just get a good amp and sub, upgrade your alternator and you'll be able to thump when ya want but still keep great sound quality. Provided you have decent mid and high speakers that is.

subthump has a box where you can still put your t tops in the hatch, and holds 2 10's or 12's. but you don't use your stock t top holders.

Use two tens in a small sealed box and put them right behind the back seats. I got a jeep box and it fits perfectly.

how does it sound.....I like to have loud subs

CamaroSS615

If you want loud, go with the enclouser that fits in your rear trunk space, with the subs firing off the hatch. I had 2 12's set up like this and they were beating like 4 12's. Only disadvantage of using an enclouser like this, is that you may have to remove your t-top holders in oreder for the box to fit properly.

dude your setup is awesome! did you cut out the side of the back panel where the spare goes? that's wicked!

up2nuthingud

you could have a custom shop build a 10 on each side , but you would lose your spare. imo, you should try to find someone with this box and listen to it. i had it in a 95 z28 i used to have and it hit 141 db with a 500 watt phoenix gold amp.

subthump makes a box that holds your t-tops. not using the factory holder, but provides a slot for them to rest in. according to some people with that style box, they fit rather snug, someone suggested just putting a towel between the 2 tops just to prevent scratching, but otherwise, they dont move. and the box looks amazing.

I'd suggest posting questions like this in the stereo/electronics section for future reference. You'll find more people who have been there done that. lol good luck.

I got the T-top box from subthump and i love it. The t-tops dont lock in anywhere but like mentioned above with a couple towels in between them and around, they fit real snug. Price is a little steep at $330 but to me its worth it. I wanted two subs also....12's [IMG]http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/litemup02/IMG_0082.jpg

I also have to give the thumbs up for the t-top subthump box. I have a triple 10 inch sub enclusure by subthump and it sounds/looks asolutely awesome. Mine though is goingup for sale as my car is pretty much sold. On a side note some of you guys in this thread have some badass stereo setups and installs!

I used a similar enclouser as litemup02, 2 12's in this type of enclouser hit like 4 12's( firing off the rear hatch). The only problem is not being able to store your t-tops in their holders. I have never used a stealth enclouser, but I can imagine it sounds just as good.
