Stereo & Electronics - 98 Camaro Monsoon Speaker Questions

My 98 camaro's window sticker says it has the monsoon stereo. I busted a front speaker and called my dealer to order one. The dealer told me that in his computer, 98 you couldn't get a monsoon stereo. So what's up? I called billy graham's firebird salvage to order a speaker and he told me 98 was a 1 year only speaker and he didn't have any. I thought they all were the same? Does anybody know or have any part numbers. I don't care about correctness, just want to be able to put my door panel back on, and don't want to have to do any custom wiring. thanks Brandon.

1998's are a weird year is what he means. They have a few qwerky things that are different than other years, but none the less you could get a monsoon in 96-02

Just get a 99 up, it'll be fine.

Your dealer needs to learn how to read a parts manual better.

97-02 Camaro left door speaker (UZ7 8-speaker Monsoon): 9361869
97-02 Camaro right door speaker (UZ7 8-speaker Monsoon): 9361859

The salvage place was closer but still not correct. The Firebird door speakers are different from Camaros (components instead of coaxial) but they don't change from 97-02 except in convertibles where 97 and 98 had different speakers than later years.

i agree with upgrading. it's too simple. all i did, was hack of the wires going to the speaker, towards the speaker terminals. put on a connector butt to hook up to the new speakers, and there you go.

other wise i'll sell you mine for 10 bucks plus shipping.
