I just purchased a 91 z28 all it neeeds is a new motor in it, i was gonna go ahead and pull the tpi motor out and junk seeing as how the guy who owned it before me spun a bearing in the bottom end. I was looking into purchasing either a rebuilt 350 or 383. If i did this would the motor be able to drop in and hook up to the 700r4 trans thats in the car already, and then run? will i have to worry about any of the emissions stuff in order for the car to turn over?

it depends on what ur goals are with the car
if ur gonna go nuts then forget about emissions
any sbc engine will bolt back up to the 700r4

I'd reconsider using the TPI setup if you are going to a 383. They are not very ideal for high cube engines requiring lots of air and they fall on their face pretty early on the tach. I say 383 with an aftermarket manifold.
