I think its the ease of working on them and theres alot less to diagnos in a carb set up. Me personally I wanted a BBC and the carb route was the best for me to go. Also I like the fact of how you can clean up alot of the wiring cluter by going this route.

a carb is a better emulsifier so if two properly tuned motors identical except for one efi and one carb the carb motor will make more power.
