I've built two of them, but only on the parcel shelf. Maybe you can use a similar idea for your seat delete area.

Here's my temp amp rack.. Hell it's been temp for a year now. LOL one day I'll remove the back of the rear set and put the amps there.... Hell this post might have given me the inspiration I need!! Oh yeah, I have all 10W3v2s now too. That W0 has since been swapped out... I need to update my pics. :) There's also a USX-1000D mono D amp under the t-top box too which sends 1250 watts RMS to the 3-10s

lol still looks good tho bud. you've done a great job with your car and making it unique but without going overboard. Just a very well done job, all the little things. the blue light conversion (my fav of ur mods to date), the illuminated bird, vanity tags and the lighting, the system. All just very well done.

The shop wanted their logo "Bullfeathers Car and Sound", so for a small fee (discount) I offered it up to them. (I assume you mean on the amp side), but I have the MBQuartz/Team Gates/Memphis stickers on the front side (back seat area).
After this year, the system will go into mothballs......Done competing!
Thanks, and many of the ideas I gathered from viewing f-body galleries. The system was specifically designed to meet the MECA street SPL class and modified SQ class.
I see, I knew id never seen it before. Well it looks great man.

Problem I find is that after (2) years, the monitors begin to go.......seen too many ppl w/warranty requests. I'm Sca-ert for the money an AV system costs to purchase/install. I was more concerned about the excessive daytime heating and jarring (racing) damage that could potentially be a problem.

Yeah. All in all, thats why I decided to go with a reg h/u. My pockets dont run that deep ya know? If something happens I just wont always be able to replace the unit. lol But they are pretty bad ass.

Just curious, but everyone that has amps and such on the back rack, are ya'll paranoid someone will jack ya stuff??? I'm always concerned with it, hence the double 5% tint on back. Even with that, I still worry alot about it, even though I have a kickass alarm.
I wish we had more room, I'd hide it all if I could!!
I would be. Thats why im mounting my amps where the back seats used to be. It's not as advertised. No more than my headunit will be at this point. Im still torn whether or not to go 5 or 15 % for my tint though. I hear its hard/impossible to see out the back hatch with 5%. But it would be nice to have the added "security" and heat deflection.
edit: Oh hey, infinite. I was just curious. There is an led screen of sorts on the amp im getting. Do you think that would be changeable to red? I'd assume if anyone would have a clue, you'd be the guy to ask. lol

Yes, im sure it hides in the back of everybodys mind..mine is no daily driver so i dont worry as much. As far as in or near my garage the dog barks at every noise possible...gimme 10 seconds and i'll have 30 rounds in their ass :kali: .........

I'd do 5% on sides and 5% on back. It no harder backing up at night on a dark road with 5% versus double 5%. It's more difficult to see out the back, but you get use to it. I still know when a cop's headlights are behind me so I know to act normal. :) What is REALLY nice about it is that I don't have to flip up my rear view mirror any more from idiots that ride with their brights on behind me. :)
I'm guessing it's an LCD readout for the battery voltage or something like the pic below? If so, that can be changed, but PITA and not worth the time. I'd try to find a red one if possible. Now if it's LEDs that light up (like on the sides of my cap), that'd be just swapping them out. Though if you're going from blue to red, you will need a resistor to drop the voltage down from 3.4v to 2v on each LED.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v375/InfiniteReality/Firehawk/TempAmpRack/IMGP0360.jpg
Ah, probably not worth it. But thanks. 5% isnt too bad you say? Then thats probably the route I'll go. What about turning at night? Ever come close to hitting a curb or something? Just some of the things I hear.
This is the amp btw, the display looks similar to our odometers...

I'm thinking leave it as blue. Looks similar to our odometers and if you take it apart you'll see if it's LEDs or not and go from there.
I'd do 5% in a heartbeat all around. It does take a little getting use to, make turns I'm sitting more up and watching what I'm doing. I've never hit a crub in this car or my old 93, knock on wood. I personally like 5%, privacy rocks!!
Then you have swayed me to the dark side. :)

Yeah... It was crazy. That was all within two seasons of competition too, if you'd seen the rest of the seasons (which I have on CD somewhere, no longer on a computer) you'd think I really jumped off the deep end.
I don't miss the 2+ hour drives to a show, the late nights with no sleep trying to test and tune, and the empty wallet from all of it at all. :)
It's a beautiful thing. :) There are a couple set ups on here though that seem to have NO room for the tops, so either that person has a vert, hardtop, or a different place to keep them. lol
I have a hardtop, but the latest incarnation of my car actually allows for the use of my hatch. (Excluding the fact I have 10" subwoofers built into my doors, it's farily easy to accomplish.)
This amp rack was built to take the place of the spare tire (which is an impartial photo, the actual amp rack has two amps stacked on each other and there is enough room in that cavity to do so):
http://www.carstereos.org/gallery/showimage.php?i=1471&c=114
http://www.carstereos.org/gallery/showimage.php?i=1472&c=114
The flat part you see present just rests on the hump in the back and you bolt it down. There seems to be enough room there to do just about anything reasonable as I fit my Pioneer P9 processor, two A/D/S/ P650.2's, all the fusing and wiring without much hassle.
Do that then put a small woofer in the opposing side and you should retain it, but seems like a lot of people need the extra rattle from multiple woofers, which throws the idea out the window. ;)

But they do, even with a couple of towels between them. They are not latched in like the factory set-up but they fit really snug. On subthump.com they have pics with the t-tops installed if any of you would like to see them.

Settled down?
Never. :D I just find other avenues to raise hell in. ;)
I've just never wanted my eardrums blown out - I've always been, and always will be sound quality all the way - never in my life have I run anything over a single 12" - never needed to. :)
I still have the custom system, just nothing invading my entire hatch. I've got a P9/D9 combo, two a/d/s/ p650.2's, custom 3 way front stage and 10" subwoofers in the doors... It's completely custom - I just never turn it on - enjoy listening to the car more than the stereo... hehe :jest:
lol Raisin hell till the day you die huh? haha
So, any other custom racks out there?

My car isn't really worth putting up here, but I have two amps and a cap mounted on a piece of carpeted wood on the rear deck and two Diamond 12' subs in a sub thump t-top box.
My point in posting here is for you guys that are running hte t top box. BE SURE to put a towel or somthing in between the tops. I didn't for a while and then noticed that the plastic inside piece (the part with the handle and lock) was rubbing and wearing away. Now I have several scratches and wear marks on them. Love the box anyways, but just something to keep in mind when using it.
