Stereo & Electronics - Better reception when antenna is lowered??

Well i mainly only listen to my ipod thru the radio, but when i disconnected the power antenna, i now get tons better FM reception, has anyone else experienced this and can someone tell me why?

Just a guess. . .bad connection or loose wire and when it's down, it's connected better. . .

If you mean that your iPod works better through the FM modulator with the factory FM antenna disconnected, it's because the radio isn't picking up any competing signals. The modulator becomes the only source of FM signal so it sounds better.

i should have clarified, my Ipod is hooked up directly thru the AUX input of my headunit, so its clarity is perfect. The FM reception has always sucked on my aftermarket HU, but when i put that antenna down, it got better!
