With this amp

and 2 10" Type-R Subs. Which sub do I want, the 2 ohms or the 4?

Get the 2 ohm ones.. run them the DVC's in series, then run each sub in parallel.
Net result = 2 ohm load as seem by the amp.
Thank you sir. I understand everything but the DVC's?

Each speaker has 4 posts. YOu want those to be in series (dual voice coil speaker). This will produce a 4 ohm impendance.
When you have two speakers like that in parallel, you get 2 ohms,,,
Gotcha, so its 2 ohms each speaker because they share a channel. And being a mono amp, wiring them in series would be the best way to do wire them. Thanks dude, I appreciate the help.

The way you explained it, I am not sure you get it. Here, take a look at this:

Maybe this can help.
I see. So its a split, because of the voice coils. I'll connect the VC's in series and the drivers in parallel. So there are 4 wiring points per speaker? + and - for the drivers, and + and - for the voice coils. Connecting them all in parallel would cause a lower impedance, and all in series (which is apparently not recommended) would cause a higher impedance. Am I ball park here?
Now, from a mono amp, how would I split the output wire of the + & - and connect to the speakers accordingly as the diagram shows? Does a wiring kit come with some sort of splitting wire for each output? I'm new to all of this, but would really like to take a stab at installing the system myself. I know with some time I can do it. I consider myself of above average intelligence and I know a few "morons" who've done their own systems. lol So I got this damnt! :drive:
