So i want to upgrade the sound in the bird and have limited knowledge of what to do/ buy.

As of now, I want to get Alpine SPR-17LS Type R (doors)Componentshttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Alpine-SPR-17LS-Type-R-6-5-Components-System-Speakers_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38646QQihZ019Q QitemZ290015404770QQrdZ1

ALPINE TYPE R 500w 6 1/2 6.5 CAR STEREO SPEAKERS(Sail panel)

powered by Infinity Reference 7451a Reference 4 channel amplifier

also from what i understand, this is not that hard, as in use the existing wires for the speakers but im not sure about wiring the amp to the new speakers.

also, im not big into rap, mainly rock, and punk. i love clearity and a crisp clean sound, in yalls opinion, how will this do???

I have a Pioneer 7700 headunit installed already by the way.

If your going for clarity then your definitely headed the right rout. I listen to same style music and have always stuck with Alpine and Infinity. Have yet to dissapoint me.

I would go with the infinitys.
For the price they are hard to beat.
If you get a chance to listen to the alpines please do because they didnt impress me too much

Fitting a type r in the door might take a little more work than an infinity. The type rs are pretty big. I barely got them to fit in my blazer and that was with a 1/2 spacers i made. Door panel just fit. Might want to go infinity and save headache.

I used Infinity Kappas in my car, and I like them. The price was right and they blow the factory stuff out of the water. They are loud and clear.

I was using the Infinities and they have NO bass output. I switched the Alpine SPR-17LS and they sound 100x better and the bass output is night/day. The Infinities have a harsh tweeter compared to the Alpines.

Depends on what you are trying to do, If you plan on getting a subwoofer in the future I would go with the Infinity. They have much better highs and almost no lows(which is where the subwoofer comes into play). The alpine have all around quality, they can hit pretty good highs and ok lows. If you have no intension of putting in a sub I would go with the Alpine. if you are going to get bass somewhere else, go with the infinity. Best way to tell is go to a Sound Shop and listen to both kinds of speakers at the same time. What sounds good to me doesnt always sound good to you.

i went with the type-s speakers all the way around and a type-e sub. the type-r speakers had a harder hitting sound to me compared to the type-s speakers. i guess i am getting old, but the music just sounded better thru the s's. i am in jax also, so if you are ever gonna be around the westside / op area shoot me a pm and we can meet-up and you can have a listen.
