The left side lights on the steering wheel went out. Any suggestions on repair?

Just replace the entire switch.
Easiest way to do it rather than spending hours trying to figure out how to take them apart.

Just get a flat headed screw driver and gently pry the button out. The LED bulbs are going to have to be taken out with a sodering gun since they are sodered in there. Buy some new LED's and soder the new ones in.

If you decide to replace the whole module, be warned that GM used a completely different unit starting part way through the 99 model year. So if you have a 98 or an early 99, you'll use a different part than the later 99-02 cars. The older version is a much nicer, solid unit, but costs like 3x as much.

Hmmmm I'll go the soldering route. Does anyone have a link or part # for the LED bulbs? Just went to Pep boys today to get spark plugs. Could have gotten the bulbs while I was there. Picked up the car April of 1999, so I'm guessing its the early 99. Thanks guys for the responses. A part # would really help.
