Ok, so I read a ton of topics after searching this, and found out good info, but not what AI was looking for in particular. I know now that I can connect the guage wire to the purple wire on the O2 sensor, and get the signal I need, but what I was wondering, is if there is any wire on the inside of the car I can tap into to get my signal?

If not I'll just buy the adapter from Caspers.

bump this, i need help doing the same thing, i cant keep a steady signal when i tapped directly to the o2 sensor, it cuts in and out... does the o2 harness run anywhere thats easy to get at(not under the car)?

also, apparently the connectors on the pcm are differnet for the 98 model year, cuz i searched this topic and i saw 2 different ways to tap into the pcm, using pin 10 on the lower connector (which on mine it has no wire going to it...) and pin 69 which should be purple and white, only the upper connector has a wire going to pin 69 and its blue.... help please b4 i buy the damn pigtail...

You can't get a steady signal off the guage? Or a multimeter? Because you're never going to ge ta steady signal off the guage, it'll only go steady when you're at WOT and it should read rich. All other times, it'll go back and forth between Lean and Stoich, due to the PCM controling things like injector pules, and adding and decreasing fuel.

its the defi d- gauge im using, it has a smoothing feature and an auto detect for 1v or 5v reference(which is why its fricken expensive), on my last car with a narrow band it was real smooth and accurate at any time. i couldnt get a good connection on the purple wire on the passenger side o2 in the collector(i can tell cuz it works fine for a couple min. then the gauge has a fault mode where it goes from 17:1 to 14.7:1 back and fourth every 2 seconds). so i am trying to tap right off the pcm, all the things i have found on this site listed above didnt work... basically what pin on a 98 pcm is the damn o2 signal? its not pin 10 or pin 69 on both top and bottom connectors.

well i found the pin assignments for my pcm... either pin # blue 42 or 47 are the bank 1 sensors 1 and 2 high signal, and neither were reading right, the gauge stayed at 14.6-14.8 during mild to hard acceleration, and would wander around in the 15-16.5:1 range at idle and steady speeds. weird ass gauge, i know the car isnt running stoich at WOT... and there is not SES light, and no pending trouble codes... any input from anybody
