I heard about this car from Fast Autos.net but didnt give it too much thought. Yesterday, Im at kroger, in the magazine section and I see this same car on the cover of the Dupont Registery, i turn to page 3 and it says this car may smash the world speed record powered by a twin turbo LSX (not sure if its Ls1 or 6) C5R block @ 26psi (Adjustable)http://www.sscautos.com/specifications.asp. What do you guys think?

The Bugatti hasn't technically set the record yet. They haven't tested the top speed officially yet, but they're going to be doing it sometime soon.

Do you mean the production vehcile speed record? The Bugatti Veyron is *supposed* to be capable of a maximum of 252 mph top speed ( http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/bugatti_veyron.asp ) . As for the "fastest speed record" I'm sure some goofy rocket car has more than exceeded anything any internal combustion engine can do, or will do for many many years.

I'm sure we are talking street legal production car on this one. Because there is some goofy rocket car that has broken the sound barrier.
