How fast would a 4gen be with a 427 big block pumpin about 500 hp? Maybe a Mm6, but probably a turbo 400 tranny? I'm just trying to get some rough ideas..

It depends a lot on how the car would be set-up.

If she is set-up for drag racing, and the big block is putting out 500 ponies at the flywheel, I'd say high 11s at stock weight. 500 ponies at the wheels would be more along the lines of mid to upper 10s.

That big block will add a good 200-300 lbs over the weight of a LS1 engine, even with aluminum heads.

What ball park area would I be looking at with my setup in sig with a 250 hp shot of nitrous and properly set up suspension.

Is there a good way to shed some weight, and keep the interior intact somewhat?
It's going to be set up for the street.. I'm not sure what tranny i'm going to be able to use yet, but I'll probably end up with this turbo 400.. Do you think that i will have to change some gearing around? I'm not sure what the camaro rear end comes with..

You'll have to ditch the whole Camaro rear end and get a 9"/12 bolt or Dana 60. You can also lose some weight and keep the interior intact. Take out your ac/heat, radio & speakers, center console etc.

As far as the motor weight you can get close to what the SBC weight was by doing a K-member and upper a-arms. Also you'll lose a few good pounds getting rid of all the computer and wiring junk.

If you aren't looking at 600 plus Horsepower it'd may be smarter to stay with a SBC just for less weight.
