My dad is getting a new motor for his dragster. it is a 498 (bored from a 468) and said if we can make it work, we can put it in my car. Will it even fit in there?
It is carb'd, and makes about 850 hp as it stands. We would lower the compression and cut the timing so it will run on 93.
Im 99% were not going to do this because this is my DD but what all would needed to be done?

theres my car, sbc in a 71 vw bug
You would need a worthy tranny(th400/powerglide) new tranny brace, new motor mounts, custom headers, new/custom acsessory brackets, grinder/plasma cutter to get ride of nearly everything under the hood to make room, lots of time, and probibly some more $$.
If you hae the tools, money, and the drive you can put any engine into any vehicle, within reason of course.

Not to be rude, but that sounds like a horrible idea for a daily driver.

A few years ago a guy put a 502 in a 94 Z28. The car was orange with white strips. It wasn't all that much work cause he used a carb. I believe he has changed since then to EFI setup for that motor. It took a new K-member and custom headers to make the car work for him.

All you need is a worthy suspension and driveline. Then just get a k-member and Hooker Headers model 2455. A daily driver it would be a bit much, but to drive a few days a week should be okay.
