I am currently looking into a new driveline for my 94 Z28 and am debating on 3 different setups, either a 383 LT1, SBC, or LS2. I would rather do the SBC swap, hence the reason I posted this here. I would like to do a ZZ4 swap with a 700-R4 transmission. This will be a daily driver also, but will have a lot of track time. I will also be doing a nitrous setup as well. Here are the questions I had:

1. Are there any major fabrication tools required for such a swap (i.e. plasma cutters, welders, etc.)
2. I will be getting the BMR K-member and a cowl induction (4") hood, but other than that are there any other modifications needed to fit the motor in?
3. Will this setup line up the shifter for the 700-R4 to the stock location with no modification?
4. Will the driveshaft need to be changed or modified to bolt up to the 10-bolt?

Any other input or advice would be great also. Thanks.

Im 99.9% sure the 700r4 is dimensionally identical to the 4l60e. The shifter is just run by a cable to the trans so you will be good. You may want or may have to notch the cowl underneath the windshield. Depending on what intake you use it may not be necessary but it definitely makes things a lot easier and i would definitely recommend it. Stock driveshaft will work fine.

going carb or staying fi?

you wouldn't be able to use any of the accessories from the LT1, those you'd have to get on your own if its not included with the ZZ4 ...

honestly some people would just say you're better off spending the money and doing a 383 LT1 with some LT4 heads and some forged internals
