What has to be done to mount Vortec manifold on standard heads??? Is it bolt pattern or port height??? Thanks

The intake bolt angle is different on the Vortec heads, as the bolt pattern is horizontal, instead of at an angle on the older heads. Basically, the Vortec intake won't work on older heads.
The Vortec heads are only about $500.00 complete, and they flow much better than the older heads. The downside to them is that you do need a Vortec spec intake manifold. Edelbrock has intakes for the Vortec heads. Bob

from the looks of it he has a vortec manifold already that he wants to mount on a set of older heads... my suggestion is trade someone for the right manifold u need or breakdown and buy one it is too much work in my opinion to get the manifold to work on your application

the vortec intake will work if you drill the extra bolt holes in it. it is however not worth the headache of trying to get it to seal properly so its a much wiser choice to just get a new intake imo
