Can you stick a small block chevy gen 1, complete w/intake manifold & carb & distributor under the hood of a 98 camaro? It just seems the dist. & carb would stick way too high to fit.

That would be a simple job. You'd just have to cut the cowl a little bit.

How easy is it to take the distributor in and out afterwards?

Ive put a gen1 383 in a 94. It was pretty simple and very straight forward. If you use the search function in this forum you will find a ton of info on this. For any specific questions after you search just ask.

depends on your skill, if your fairly mechanicaly inclined its just a few mods here and there to go from one style smallblock to the next. if your the type to take your car to a speed shop for a set of headers or cam swap... your opening up a serious can of worms and i wouldnt recomend it. Youll have to do a good amount of wiring, new gauges, mod or swap k-memebers, metal work, diff transmission,

Size and fitting wise a smallblock will fit just fine though. Im actualy doing a big block swap. granted im taking my time and doing a lil here and there..honestly nothing has been hard or stressful to me so far.
