just like it says how much does a good machine job run? I have a stock 350 block and I wanted to get it 30 over for the 383 assembly.

I'm about to have the same thing done. A local shop quoted me ~$550 to have the block hot tanked, magnafluxed & checked for cracks, install new bearings & freeze plugs, overbore/honed with torque plate, clearance everything for stroker crank, balance rotating assembly and put the shortblock together.

That's right in line. Sheehan Racing is doing a 355 Marine Shortblock for me and quoted $500 for the same above.

At our shop if a block is sent to us to machine we sonic test the block first then we bake and blast the block and mag for cracks and line hone the block with a new set of ARP main bolts and square and deck the block to zero or there recomended deck height, cut the bottom of the cylinders for extra rod clearance for stroker cranks ETC, bore the cylinders and torque plate hone plus clearance the lifter bores with a ridgid Sunnen hone and final clean for 595.00 and all our work is done in a HAAS 4-axis CNC machining center.

We have some customers that want there block fully blue printed including the cam tunnel ETC.

Here is a link on a thread I did on blue print machining blocks.
