Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - CAM Question?

I have a 383 and i want to know if i take out the cam...would there be a part number on it...so i can look up the specs..?

Nobody will be able to give you a straight answer because I don't think all manufacturers etch grind numbers onto their cams. I know the aftermarket cam that came out of the 355 in my truck didn't have any #'s on it, but the comp cam I replaced it with did. Only way to find out is to pull it and see. :)

If you can find someone in your area that has a "cam doctor" they can run your cam through it and give you the specs. Here in Southern California Chet Herbert Cams does it for free.
